Massage Descriptions

Relaxation/Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is one of the most commonly practiced and well-known types of massage therapy. It focuses on promoting relaxation, increasing circulation, and easing muscle tension through a combination of long, smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements. Unlike deeper forms of massage (like deep tissue), Swedish massage is generally gentler and is designed to promote overall well-being rather than target deep muscle layers or injuries.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic massage technique that targets the deeper layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). Unlike a traditional, lighter massage, deep tissue massage uses slow, firm pressure and focused strokes to reach deeper muscle layers, making it highly effective for relieving chronic muscle tension, pain, and tightness.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a specialized form of massage therapy designed to enhance athletic performance, promote recovery, and prevent or treat injuries. It combines various massage techniques aimed at targeting muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia that are engaged during physical activity. Sports massage can be used both as a preventative measure for athletes and as a treatment for specific injuries or discomfort related to sports and exercise.

PNF Stretching (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation)

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Stretching (PNF) is a flexibility and rehabilitation technique that aims to improve range of motion, strength, and overall functional mobility. It involves both stretching and contracting the muscle group being targeted, utilizing the body's proprioceptive and neuromuscular systems to enhance muscle function.

30-Minute Focal Massage

This style of massage will target a specific area of the body.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing practice that involves creating a vacuum or suction within cups applied to the skin. This suction pulls the skin and underlying tissue into the cup, which stimulates blood flow, promote healing and blood flow to areas of stagnation, and relieve pain or tension.
